Concerns about Syrian Conflict

Though the usage of chemical weapons is horrific, and should be condemned, does it really give the U.S. the right to intervene? I find it amusing that Barrack Obama, who ran his initial campaign on ending the war in middle east, now has a different stance on conflict in the middle east. I am sure the naysayers will argue that the most perfect president in U.S. History had good reason not to support the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan, and because he could never be wrong, is now justified in his current desire to war monger in Syria. I have seen and read the arguments of the presidents case, but still don't see how it justifies raiding a country that doesn't want our presence. Wasting time and resources for no gain seems folly to me, as our involvement in this conflict will only make the middle east hate us more (if that was possible). Another point I would like to make is regarding the U.S. and its stance on terrorism. We don't tolerate, negotiate, and under no circumstances support terrorism right? But what would we call a rebel group seeking to take power in a America? Terrorists, you could easily consider the founding fathers terrorists by today's convoluted standards. So why then are we supporting and looking to aid terrorists attempting to take power in Syria? Military action in Syria would lead to arming, training, and doing everything necessary to take out the current regime in Syria. We would be supporting terrorism in an effort to punish the Syrian government. As far as I am concerned, we have as much proof of Syria using chemical weapons, as Bush had of Iraq having WMD's, and we all know how that turned out. The U.S. does not want to go to war, and whether or not Syria did use said chemical weapons does not give us the right to police the world, that's up to the U.N. So stop pushing and pushing to convince us we need to go to a war for a moral reason when moral is dead in this country anyways. America needs to focus on America, and making our own country better, I think we are all weary of rushing in to save the rest of the world when we cannot even save ourselves.
